Mr. Sultan Al Habsi, CEO, PEIE and Mr. Charbel Fakhoury, General Manager, Microsoft Gulf, signed a lease agreement for 334 square metres in the recently-completed and prestigious KOM 3 building.

Microsoft has chosen to take advantage of KOM's exceptional facilities and business environment, which has been designed to offer comprehensive support for hi-tech, knowledge-driven multinationals, SMEs and start-ups, remarked Mohammed Al Maskari, KOM's Director General.

Abdullah Lootah, Microsoft's Country Manager said: "Taking space on KOM means we can embark on the next stage of business growth with limited disruption both in terms of location and service to our customers. Our operations in Oman are growing at about 30% per annum and we were keen to find serviced hi-tech office space that provides the kind of flexible business support and infrastructure needed by a company like ours. KOM's an ideal location for Microsoft's staff and customers so the Park's new build has come at just the right time in our development. The facilities at KOM are superb and we're delighted to be part of the Park's rapidly growing international ICT community."

Microsoft, along with other blue chips such as HP, NCR and Oracle has moved to KOM to meet the needs of their growing portfolio of clients. "I'm confident that the Park's environment will complement the highly creative and technical work that Microsoft is involved with," added the KOM Director.

KOM now operates over 20,000 square metres of business and incubator space and is seen by many as Oman's flagship IT initiative. "The Government is keen to see Oman create and develop more hi-tech and knowledge-based enterprises, and the success of such ventures is closely linked to the quality and availability of hi-tech office space and the provision of support services and KOM offers both these ingredients, this is what's helping us attract firms such as Microsoft," remarked the PEIE CEO.

"We're delighted to welcome Microsoft to KOM and wish them every success in developing their businesses. Microsoft's presence on KOM can only help enhance the Park's growing international reputation as a centre of hi-tech innovation and entrepreneurship," said Al Maskari.
