SMART displays latest collaborative learning technology at GETEX Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 11 - 2007 at 12:38
- PRESS RELEASE
SMART Technologies Inc. announces its participation in the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) Dubai 2007, the Middle East's leading education exhibition that will be held from April 11-14 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
The Senteo interactive response system has been developed with the input of hundreds of educators with a clear focus on classroom needs for power, flexibility and ease of use. The ergonomic remote for each student can be used while placed on top of a desk or while being held in the hand. Because the system is based on radio-frequency (RF) technology, students do not need to have line of sight to the receiver in order for their responses to be received. The remote also features an easy-to-read LCD screen that can display three lines of text. Notebook™ software, the world's most popular whiteboarding software, is included with the Senteo interactive response system. Various formats of questions can be quickly and easily created and inserted within Notebook software allowing both planned and spontaneous questions during class. One-to-one interaction is increased and students become more engaged and involved in their own learning.
"Our customers have been asking for an interactive response system to complement their other SMART products," says Nancy Knowlton, SMART's CEO. "Our product line, now including the Senteo interactive response system, is constantly growing, and we are confident that SMART's easy-to-use, collaborative tools will appeal to many educators attending GETEX."
