The high profile exhibit will feature the popular My Book™ World Edition™ family of shared storage appliances that enable users to securely access their personal digital content, such as music, photo's or documents, from any source in the world as if it were stored locally. The terabyte (TB) model is equipped with a dual-drive configuration and RAID capability, which eliminates the necessity of physical proximity to the content and enables the user to access information without having to upload it onto a third-party web site.
The solution is based on WD's new Anywhere Access™ software that simplifies access to digital content and is equipped with innovative functions, a three year warranty and compatibility with both wired and wireless networks.
Commenting on their participation at Gitex, Hafeez Khawaja, Senior Regional Director, Middle East, Africa, South Asia, WD said,
'Saudi Arabia has a very large demand for storage devices so the Gitex exhibition is an important opportunity for us to expand our presence in the region by showcasing our popular products to customers, distributors and industry leaders. These advanced, innovative hard drives are predicted to re-define the external storage landscape so we will be providing displays and information during Gitex KSA to ensure our customers achieve the maximum potential from these products.'
The leading hard drive manufacturer will also showcase its newly redesigned WD Passport Portable Drives, which are now available in capacities of 60, 80, 120 and 160 GB. The sleek, stylish and compact WD Passport simplifies the synchronisation of essential personal files on a PC, making it easy for consumers to take desktop content with them wherever they go. The product is also equipped with a fast 5,400 RPM hard drive, a USB 2.0 interface and data protection with 128-bit encryption.
In addition to the My Book™ World Edition™ and WD Passport Portable Drives, a full portfolio of products will be displayed at the stand, which will also feature presentations, information and demonstrations.
'As the first company to explore and penetrate the hard drive market in Saudi, we can offer our customers practical solutions that are tailored to their needs by drawing on our years of experience in the region. Exhibiting in association with our distribution partners provides us with the full support necessary to provide a comprehensive stand that will be staffed with senior officials and experts to interact with our visitors and provide information on our key products,' Khawaja concluded.
