Mr. Azim Premji, Chairman, Wipro Ltd., during his recent visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, said, "The Middle East is a critical component of our global expansion strategy, as it is a rapidly growing IT services market. Mr. Premji announced that it has been chosen as Doha Bank's strategic IT Partner for providing Enterprise Application Integration and Security consulting services, which has arrived in the wake of recent deals signed in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. These include end-to-end Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions deals at Saudi Polyolefins, Riyadh Pharma and Al Haya Medical Company, in addition to prestigious contracts with Dubai Municipality and Dubai Internet City for providing high-end IT operations management services.
While Wipro has an office in the Dubai Internet City, the company operates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through a partnership with H.H Prince Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulrahman, President of Dar Al Riyadh Group. In Qatar, Wipro works in partnership with the ITS Group, headed by H.E Sheikh Ghanim Bin Awaidah Al-Thani.
"We have an ambitious plan to integrate technology into our business. Wipro became the logical choice given the critical nature of the project. Their extensive experience in handling large technology projects, deep understanding of our business needs, access to appropriate technologies and commitment to see the project through from end-to-end were instrumental in partnering with them," said Mr. Salah Mohamed Jaidah, General Manager, Doha Bank.
