Emaar sponsors students at the Young Entrepreneurs Competition

Emaar Properties has reiterated its commitment to initiatives that empower UAE nationals by sponsoring a student team pavilion, named Elnafah, at the recent Young Entrepreneur Competition organised in association with the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders.

Three students from Al Mawakeb School - Rashed Belselah, Hassan Kajoor and Abdulla Belselah - showcased a range of fashion accessories, Arabian perfumes and phone accessories as part of an innovative product packaging that appeals to women at the competition.

'The Young Entrepreneur Competition is aimed at identifying and nurturing entrepreneurship talent in youngsters,' said Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director - UAE, Emaar Properties. 'By sponsoring the students, we are building on our support to initiatives that help empower UAE nationals.'

'The Young Entrepreneur Competition instills in students creative thinking and also helps them understand the complexities of the market place,' said Mr Abdul Baset Al Janahi, Chief Executive Officer, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders. 'It is one of their first hands-on experiences on real business and will help them in their career tremendously.'

'Our participation in this competition has been a great learning experience,' said Rashed Belselah. 'We gained an insight into the way businesses function and also made us more confident. We thank Emaar for the guidance they gave at all stages of our planning and execution.'

The students make perfumes and accessories based on the preferences of customers, while the fashion accessories have been sourced from markets as wide-ranging as China, India and Turkey. The response to the student initiative has been encouraging.
