GCC gets nuclear backing

Mohammed Al Baradei, the Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has said the GCC has every right to develop nuclear power for peaceful purposes, reported Gulf News. The IAEA will conduct a feasibility study alongside the GCC looking at the possible construction of nuclear facilities and also the implementation of international standards regarding safety and security. Al Baradei recommended the establishment of a research centre in the first instance.
