World Health Day commemorated at Muscat City Centre by Muscat Private Hospital

World Health Day is observed across the globe on April 7th 2007.
The corridor adjacent to the Carrefour Hypermarket became the chosen venue for the camp. MPH was offering free health checkups to all those walking in from 10 am to 10 pm. Interested candidates could opt for various blood checkups for testing sugar levels and blood pressure were conducted free of cost. Testing sugar levels and blood pressure are prime indicators of diagnosing a host of other diseases; hence these were offered free of cost.
World Health Day marks the founding of World Health Organisation. On this day, global health issues are addressed and governments, organizations, corporations and business houses are urged to consider, invest and help in promoting health in their nations. This year's focus is on international health security.
"Health is a priority we often tend to neglect in the modern world with the accelerating pace of life. We were keen to bring this crucial importance of health and healthy living to the forefront for our customers, so we joined hands with Muscat Private Hospital in commemorating World Health Day," said Hassan Jaboub, Deputy General Manager of Muscat City Centre.
Muscat Private Hospital, which believes in the policy of 'Prevention is better than cure', this occasion of World Health Day was a prime opportunity to help better the health of the sultanate's residents. "Helping to raise personal awareness about preventable health problems is a primary objective for Muscat Private Hospital. We are delighted at the very successful response to the World Health Day initiative and would like to thank Muscat City Centre for supporting and generously hosting the event," said Christopher Evans, Director, Muscat Private Hospital.
Muscat City Centre has always stepped up to become a part of with various community services, social issues and charitable causes, like Ramadan charity and collecting aid for Lebanon war victims. Each year they are also active participants in the GCC Traffic Week.
Muscat City Centre, a part of the Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls, maintains its position as a major player in Oman's retail sector. It has recently opened its Phase 1 extension to public and reinstated its position as Oman's ultimate shopping destination. Muscat City Centre now houses over 100 top brands as well as destination stores such as Carrefour hypermarket, Magic Planet, family entertainment centre and 16 food outlets, restaurants and cafes. Muscat City Centre also acts as a town centre and the social hub of the society by participating in community activities and public events.
