- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, April 15 - 2007 at 11:43
- PRESS RELEASE
announced today that leading Middle East retailer Landmark Group has standardised its regional operations on the IBM Lotus Notes and Domino Software, using the powerful collaborative software to consolidate and unify its messaging system.
"IBM's Lotus and Domino software provides a remarkably flexible integrated platform for messaging and collaboration," said Bashar Kilani, software group manager, IBM Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan. "With IBM's cost effective solution, Landmark will have a high performance work environment which allows employees that operate in various countries to collaborate in real-time and have access to a full set of instant messaging and Web conferencing capabilities."
"We are very excited about our transformation as we aim to follow an on demand business strategy to ensure customer satisfaction at all times," said Mr. Kirit Shah, CIO of Landmark Group. "IBM provides us with a very stable and secure solution that allows us to benefit from improved performance, information availability, and simplified business processes such as customer relationship management and project tracking."
Working with IBM's Business Partner, MultiMission, Landmark Group switched from its previous messaging system to a secure and reliable platform that is designed to boost teamwork, improve organisational responsiveness and increase productivity. IBM's software is designed to provide anytime access to people and information via three on demand concepts: presence awareness, business instant messaging and Web conferencing. Users can access the information they need quickly even over low bandwidth connections. Lotus Notes replication technology replicates complete applications with data, logic and security controls allowing users to be productive regardless of their location.
"Landmark focuses on expansion and we tend to open new stores very frequently and hence require our employees to be up to date and alert all the time," said Mr. Kirit Shah. "IBM's software not only allows our staff to stay in tune with the latest happenings but also allows them to work more closely with one another. Lotus Notes acts like a document repository where information is available, updated and accessible at anytime and this is something our business needs."
