Three for Saudi fixed licences

Saudi Arabia's Communications and Information Technology Commission has approved the list of eligible applicants for fixed services licences in the kingdom. Three consortia have been selected from ten that submitted applications last month and these include the US's Verizon, Hong Kong's PCCW and Bahrain's Batelco; firms such as Qatar Telecom and Mobily failed to get through. Sealed bids from the three applicants will be opened on April 21.
