Hundreds celebrate new Audi TT at private art exhibition

- PRESS RELEASE
As the new Audi TT arrives in Dubai, Al Nabooda Automobiles transformed the Bauhaus style villa into an exhibition featuring exhibits of previously unseen design sketches, independent artists' impressions of the TT, projections and sound animations.
"From the day of its launch in autumn 1998, the Audi TT took the sports coupé segment by storm and quickly became a cult car internationally and in the Middle East. The new Audi TT continues this legacy." said K. Rajaram addressing the exhibition's guests.
Meanwhile a panel of renowned motoring journalists from 22 countries around the world has reached its verdict: the new Audi TT is the 2007 World Car Design of the Year. The sports coupé from Audi beat off competition from 28 other candidates to take the title. The award was announced during a press conference at the New York International Auto Show.
The World Car of the Year jurors praised the new TT's flared wheel arches, signature single frame grille and sleek silhouette. They commented that "while there is a clear connection to the original TT's Bauhaus styling, the second-generation model evolves it into a more modern form". The jurors also noted that Audi had worked hard to create "a more spacious, driver-focused cabin".
This is not the first award that the new Audi TT has received. Its blend of charismatic design and sheer dynamism has led to awards from "BBC Top Gear" and "What Car?" magazines in Great Britain and from "ADAC Motorwelt" and "Auto Bild" magazines in Germany.
The new Audi TT Coupé is available with a 200 hp turbocharged FSI four cylinder engine or with a 3.2 litre six-cylinder engine with 250 hp and quattro permanent four wheel drive. Despite being longer, wider and better equipped than its predecessor, the new Audi TT Coupé is lighter thanks to its hybrid aluminium/steel ASF (Audi Space Frame) body.
Customers in Dubai are already taking delivery of the new Audi TT Coupé.
