IAA Jordan elects new board of directors for 2002-2004

Mr. Sharif Abu Khadra, IAA Jordan founding President spoke at the meeting, highlighting the achievements of the IAA in the country, prior to registration, and thanking all members for their continued support through the two years before official registration.

"We are pleased to see the fruits of our efforts and hard work realized, with the formal registration of the IAA in Jordan," commented Mr. Sharif Abu Khadra, President of IAA Jordan.

"In the past two years, working as a chapter under establishment, the IAA Jordan was fairly active given the legal constraints it had to contend with. But, we managed to make our presence felt locally, regionally and internationally. Now, we look forward to laying the basis for a strong chapter to serve professionals in the field for years to come" he added.

Commenting further on the outlook for the future, Mr. Mohammad Alayyan, Vice President of IAA Jordan said, "Now that the IAA has grown and has gained the legal status it requires, we look forward to activating the chapter on all fronts and ensuring that it serves the advertising, media and marketing community in the country. There are high expectations, and we will work hard to achieve them."

Efforts to establish the IAA Jordan were initiated by 18 members two years ago, the IAA Jordan now has 45 members and will now focus on increasing membership as a legal entity.

"I expect advertising and media professionals in Jordan to now join the IAA in greater numbers," said Zeid Nasser, Secretary General of IAA Jordan. "Given time, this organization will achieve many of its goals and people in our industry will see for themselves how important it is to be part of the IAA and to fully support it."

The new IAA Jordan Board of Directors includes seven members. The four executive committee members are Sharif Abu Khadra, President of IAA Jordan and President of Team Y&R Group in Jordan; Mohammad Alayyan, Vice President of IAA Jordan and Editor-In-Chief of Al Waseet Amman; Zeid Nasser, Secretary General of IAA Jordan and Managing Director of MediaScope; Salim Ja'nini, Treasurer of IAA Jordan and General Manager of TeleMax Productions; with Mustapha Tabba, General Manager of Ipsos-Stat in Jordan, Ruba Batayneh, General Manager of AGA Profess Graphics and Karim Abu Khadra, Vice President of Team Y&R Group in Jordan all serving as non-executive board members of the IAA Jordan.
