- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, November 10 - 2002 at 12:15
- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Development and Investment Authority has teamed up with General Electric to provide two specialist corporate leadership development training workshops for Dubai Government officials as part of a unique knowledge-sharing arrangement.
Saeed Al Muntafiq, Director General of the DDIA commented on the program: "We share with GE a strong and unwavering commitment to ongoing learning and development. Our human capital are our most valuable resource and we hope through this platform and others in the future to be able to provide our leaders with a unique educational environment to promote their ongoing development and assist them in implementing change and introducing new strategies and initiatives through their corporations. GE with its world renowned management practices and longstanding commitment to managerial education is the ideal partner in this endeavour."
Abdullah Taibah, Corporate Regional Executive for the Middle East commented: "GE is very proud of the business relation we have with the DDIA and very excited of the joint learning experience we are going through. As part of the GE, At the Customer For the Customer (ACFC) initiative, we sure can gain and learn a lot form our valued customers and deliver what matters most to him".
The 3 day training program will consist of two sessions; a Change Acceleration Process (CAP) Workshop and a Work-OutTM Workshop. The 2-day CAP workshop provides an opportunity for "change champions" to expand and enhance their capability to initiate, lead and manage change using GE's CAP Model. DDIA's partners will attend as part of a GE/Partner team of change consultants. The workshop features the application of tools and techniques of CAP to a real strategic change initiative. A critical outcome is the capacity for participants to apply the CAP tools to their internal challenges.
The Work-OutTM Workshop provides an opportunity for DDIA's partners to expand and enhance their capability to create a boundaryless, action-oriented organization. Participants attend as a member of a business team working on a real business problem. The workshop features the application of tools and techniques of Work-OutTM. A critical outcome is the capacity for participants to successfully lead Work-OutTM sessions.
Saeed Al-Muntafiq added, "GE with its long history of investing in Dubai is a key and valued stakeholder in the Dubai economy. Through this initiative, we allow Dubai Government officials to be exposed to best practices in business and management and start a process whereby which leading corporations based in Dubai can give something back to Dubai."
