  • United Arab Emirates: Thursday, April 19 - 2007 at 13:12
  • PRESS RELEASE

His Excellency Dr. Ali Bin Abdulla Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of Labour, opened a new office of the Ministry of Labour at the Department of Economic Development (DED) in a significant joint effort to serve investors and the business community in the emirate of Dubai more effectively.

The new office was jointly inaugurated by Dr. Al Kaadi and Mr. Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General for Executive Affairs at DED, at the DED's premises in the presence of senior officials from both parties.

"Dubai enjoys a strategic geographic location and offers political stability, which makes it an attractive destination for investors. The free market economic policy implemented by the government of Dubai plays a vital role in the growth of businesses and in attracting a big number of foreign investments which is later reflected in the emirate's GDP," said Dr. Al Kaabi.

"The opening of the ministry's new office at DED reiterates our continuous commitment towards facilitating business procedures. Through the new office, the ministry seeks to provide value-added services to customer and investors," added Dr. Al Kaabi.

"The initiatives, programs and projects launched by the government in different development fields have led to the sustained economic growth witnessed by the emirate. We are happy to join hands with the ministry of Labour as we both seek to encourage greater investment by providing enhanced services and easing business procedures," said Mr. Ali Ibrahim.

"The government of Dubai is strengthening efforts to make the emirate more attractive to local and foreign investments though its investor friendly policies, economic legislations and incentives," added Mr. Ali.

The fully operational Ministry of Labour office at the DED will offer value-added services to customers and investors and ensure that the business community faces no difficulty while operating in Dubai.
