Headed by the leader of the US Democrats majority at the House of Representatives Senator Steny Hoyer accompanied by the US Ambassador to Egypt his Excellency Ambassador Francis Ricciardone during their last visit to Sharm El Sheikh.
Hoyer was received and his accompanying delegation by President Mubarak in Sharm El-Sheikh. Hoyer's visit to Egypt reflects Washington's keenness on getting acquainted with the Egyptian viewpoint towards a host of issues in the region, especially vis-à-vis the Mideast peace march as well as the ongoing Egyptian efforts to resume negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides. The US Congressman visited Egypt to listen to the Egyptian analysis of the situation in Iraq, Lebanon, Darfur and Somalia.
