- PRESS RELEASE
alWaseet International (AWI) has announced the launch of its new project "Records for All", a strategic partnership between Guinness World Records (GWR) and AWI.
GWR is the universally recognized authority of record-breaking achievement. First presented in 1955 in the UK, GWR has developed its concept into an international phenomenon spread around more than 100 countries.
John Fawaz, Managing Director of alWaseet International, commented, "AWI have ambitious expansion plans but it is particularly gratifying to be able to bring a brand as high profile and internationally renowned as Guinness World Records into the AWI stable. We are convinced that the Guinness Book will be as popular in the Arabic edition as it is throughout the rest of the world and that the people of the Middle East are ready to embrace 'record breaking' with the verve and enthusiasm that is required."
The partnership with GWR is a major project for AWI which will be supported by Waseet's strong logistics and dedicated resources in order to maximize the potential in each market. GWR is a concept built around people. It recognizes great personal achievement, pride and self esteem. For some, it represents a call for personal action, whilst to others it is a wonderful source of inspiration.
The Guinness Book is today available in Arabic throughout the entire MENA region. Additionally, AWI are able to offer outstanding exposure to corporate and individuals through the organization of customized record activities and related promotional events building on the outstanding recognition that GWR attracts.
AWI is currently operating from Dubai Media City, and serves as the international headquarters for all the communication activities that fall under the Waseet banner. The simple yet highly effective formula of Waseet combined with a passion to succeed, has created the most respected classified advertising brand in the region, with a weekly distribution of over 4.7 million copies read by more than 20 million people every week.
