RTA launches (Madinati) by social participation

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of Madinati project (my City) which aims at increasing and promoting the culture of traffic safety.

In order to preserve the aesthetic appearance of the city of Dubai through the involvement of individuals and social institutions in this distinguished program.

This was stated at a press conference held headed by Eng Maitha Bin Adai, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency and attend by Eng Hussein Al Banna, Director of Right of way Department, the Manager of Madeenaty project along with a number of RTA officials.

Eng Maitha has described "Madinati" as a civilized national project that aims to increase and promote the level of social awareness about the practices to be adopted in preserving and maintaining the cultural, civilian and modern features of the city of Dubai, through lectures and awareness programs, and by involving various social segments and sectors including individuals by giving them the opportunity to participate actively in this distinguished project.

She explained that the public should upgrade their behavior of protecting public property and consider it as national and public wealth which must be protected and preserved. The program also calls for reporting any violation which may threaten the lives of people and public properties.

Eng Maitha acknowledged the initiatives of UAE citizen Mansour Al Mansuri, who use to notify the RTA call center about any violations and faults committed by others. "Today, it is a pleasure to have with us Mr. Mansour Al Mansuri, a loyal UAE citizen who acted morally, thus extending his full cooperation and support by calling the RTA and notifying us of any episode that could have potentially caused obstruction of traffic movement or affected the appearance of Dubai.

She revealed that within the new project, complaints and observations of the public will be received through the call centre and the RTA will periodically honor individuals that extend their cooperation to this project as recognition of their outstanding efforts. This will help in promoting civilized behavior and encourage others to incorporate these values, which are considered as individual and public responsibility. Everyone's cooperation is required and we look forward to individuals who might commit an accident that could result in damages not deliberated to inform us about the damages, as such behaviour will be respected and be taken in consideration to be honored by the RTA, as Bin Adai described.

Adding that the project deals with all types of violations which might be committed by some irresponsible individuals and causing damages to public property such as traffic lights and signals and other properties in the Right of way. She called all social segments, including individuals and institutions to cooperate with the RTA in this national program, which primarily aims at the safety of the community and the protection of public property, thus enhancing the RTA's vision of achieving 'Safe and Smooth transport for all'.
