The call of this 8500 TEU giant containership, operating on CMA-CGM's weekly FAL service between Europe and the Far East produced vessel performance figures of 237 moves per hour (mph) - a record for the terminal. What is even more remarkable is that this success was achieved utilizing just four Super Post Panamax Liebherr gantries.
This 'even better than usual' productivity ensured that the ship was able to sail ahead of her anticipated time and make up precious schedule hours.
Gulftainer's Director and General Manager Peter Richards commented, "Although we have come to expect that Khorfakkan will, as a matter of course, produce productivity performances which invariably far exceed those achieved elsewhere, it is still a matter of great pride that our Terminal can 'better its best' and break new records. We must certainly pay tribute to all our staffs at Khorfakkan who produce world class beating achievements on all our customers' ships, not just once in a while, but every week."
