DM to train staff on checking counterfeit currencies

Dubai Municipality has organized a special training course for its staff this week on the methods of checking counterfeit currencies.
Ahmed Ibrahim Al Zarouni, Head of Human Resources Development Section in the Personnel Department said the course, called "Uncovering methods of counterfeiting and forgery" will be held in two sittings on 24th and 25th April and will be attended by a group of employees from the Public Parks and Horticulture Department of the Municipality.
He said the course is aimed at acquainting the participants with the counterfeit currencies and the methods of finding them out, means of protection from the practice, the role of law in preventing and restraining individuals who counterfeit currencies, its impact on the country's economy, developing technology to find the art of counterfeiting and practical exercises in finding currency counterfeiting.
Al Zarouni said the second training course of the week called, "Seminar on Legal Enforcement," will be held from 22 to 23 April and will be attended by inspectors of Food Control Section and Clinic and Community Health Section of the Public Health Department in the Municipality.
He said the seminar is aimed at acquainting the enforcement officials their role in controlling the violations, the rules and regulations and the extent they can go as far as implementing the rules.
Al Zarouni said the third training course of the week called, "Principles and Techniques of Marketing Government Services," will be held from 24 to 26 April. A group of officers working in the field of marketing government services in the Municipality will attend this course.
He said the course is aimed at helping the participants understand the basic principles of marketing, analyze marketing environment and marketing function (exercise), prepare marketing plans for government services, evaluate and follow up of marketing plans, promote government services and audit marketing practices, methodology and tools.
Al Zarouni said a fourth training course will be held during the week called, "Indexing and using thesauruses," from 22 to 25 April. A group of library employees will attend this course.
He said the course is aimed at acquainting the participants with making and developing thesauruses and the ways to use the thesaurus archives.
Al Zarouni said a fifth training course will be held during the week called, "Technical Report Writing," from 24 to 26 April. A group of engineers and technicians in the Municipality will attend this course.
He said the course is aimed at helping the participants with understand the essential principles of report construction, know effective techniques for the collection of data and learn a step by step approach to technical report writing.
Al Zarouni said a sixth training course will be held during the week called, "Skills and methods of effective negotiation," from 22 to 25 April. A group of heads of sections and units and administrative officers will attend this course.
He said the course is aimed at acquainting the participants with the nature of negotiation process and planning for it, scientific bases and application of negotiation process in order to enable them to defining their strategies for suitable negotiations in addition to help the participants acquire the skills of conducting effective negotiations.
