Dubai Police delegation visits RTA

A delegation of the General Headquarters of Dubai Police visited the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) seeking to develop partnership relations with the government bodies and departments, and to consolidate efforts to serve customers in all categories under the principle of the exchange of experiences and knowledge.
The meeting starts with a presentation about RTA in general then with a brief about Project Management processes and characteristics, and it's various stages and good progress in the course of the project and expected outputs thereof.
Laila Hareb spoke on the importance of this visit and said: "This visit is one of the planned visits by the authority for the application of the partnership methodology and strengthen the role of strategic partners in the decision-making process in the authority and sharing knowledge with partners, as we are all working for the benefit of the one interest which is Dubai to achieve its strategic plan.
She stressed that the RTA adopt the same strategic target set by the Dubai Strategy plan with regard to the road network and transport system is "to provide an integrated transport routes and ensure uninterrupted movement and the best levels of safety for all users of the system.
She added that this was due to the involvement with the Dubai Government's authorities in their efforts to prepare the strategic plan of the Emirate achieving the consultative approach and distinguished coordinating espoused by the Executive Council during its preparation of the plan.
Bin Hareb said that the newly launched Project Management Operations "PMO", which includes the development and design of all operations in the authority and its agencies in accordance with international standard specifications and standards of the Dubai Government Excellence Program in addition to global best practices applied in the field of transportation.
She said we prepared for the draft reference terms of PMO based on the current status in the authority, where the RTA is newly created entity, despite the fact that some of its functions have been transferred from other government departments such as police and municipality However, many of the processes needed to the restructuring in accordance with the RTA strategy and main objectives, in order to ensure full integration between the various processes and outputs.
In conclusion, the delegation expressed admiration to the PMO and wished further cooperation in various common fields and agreed for more coordination and visits between two parties to exchange experiences and knowledge.
