UAE jewellery trade worth $6.1bn

The UAE has the second biggest jewellery market in the Middle East behind Saudi Arabia according to Tawfiq Abdullah, the Chairman of the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, and cited by Gulf News. The UAE market is worth around $6.1bn and makes up 30% of the regional trade, with Saudi Arabia accounting for 45%. The region as a whole makes up 14% of the global jewellery trade.
