- United Arab Emirates: Monday, April 23 - 2007 at 14:15
- PRESS RELEASE
MECOM 2007, targeted telecommunications event, has seen key announcements by exhibitors.
Ericsson gave a live demonstration of its innovative Mobile Healthcare solution that allows remote monitoring of patients using public wireless GPRS and 3G networks. The solution allows patients to be kept under constant observation by medical specialists and doctors without needing hospital confinement through lightweight mobile sensors that transmit data across common networks. Patient data is collated in a central server that can be accessed by experts worldwide for instant diagnosis without the need to travel.
Motorola held a press conference showcasing Seamless Mobility solutions such as integrated end-to-end entertainment and communication systems, and mobile devices offering daily communication.
Cambridge Broadband Networks, UK telecommunications vendor, introduced Vector Star, a point to multipoint backhaul solution designed to optimize spectrum utilization of licensed airwave frequencies. The solution is aimed at helping regional infrastructure cope with increasing data traffic resulting from the expected introduction of 2G/3G WiMax and other data services. The point to multipoint system offers 60 percent saving over conventional point to point transmission and up to 75 percent saving over leased lines.
MECOM 2007 is running in Halls 2, 3 and 4 of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from April 22nd - 25th, 2007.
