Part of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, the company stressed the importance of providing an inspiring educational environment that will stimulate children to learn.

Launched in the UAE earlier this year, Marko school furniture conforms to demanding European standards, and is designed for flexibility, creativity and long life.

Marko furniture is designed specially for different grades and ages, with solutions for all school needs. Many schools require formal, traditional classrooms, facing the board, while others have changed to the flexible environment. This allows for group or individual seating, and can easily moved around according to the need.

For example: Whiteboards and toddler activity panels like painting, bulletin and drawing boards can be mounted on walls or shifted around to make learning a fun activity.

Ajai Dayal, General Manager, Retail and Marketing, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, said,
"After visiting schools and universities in the UAE, we felt there was a real need to introduce quality furniture that provided a better working environment for students."

"We are delighted with the response we got at GETEX. Of the many schools that visited us, many schools are aware of modern educational methods, and are looking for creative solutions to their furniture needs. And that is where Marko and OFIS come in," he said.

Dayal added: "Marko has invested years of research to develop flexible furnishing concepts and new learning methods. We want to create inspiring environments where children can learn, play and live together."

In addition to Marko, other products on display at the OFIS stand in GETEX included Interface alphabet carpets for junior classes, Parador laminated and wooden flooring and Aresline school and auditorium seating. The Aresline collection, which is especially designed for colleges and senior classes, was particularly of interest to designers who visited the stand.

OFIS has been in the office flooring and furnishing business for two decades. Said Dayal, "With more international schools and universities opening across the region, greater emphasis needs to be placed on creative, functional learning environments, as well as design and space planning when managing furniture requirements."

OFIS showrooms are located at the foot of Maktoum Bridge in Dubai and at the junction of Hamdan and Salaam Street, Abu Dhabi.
