DM supports Ideas.Arabia conference

The Municipality is a Gold Sponsor for the conference which is being held in Al Bustan Rotana Hotel during 22-24 April 2007.

According to Hawa Bastaki, Director of Administrative Development and Quality Department at Dubai Municipality, the civic body's support to the event stems from its commitment to quality and as part of the existing cooperation between the Municipality and the Dubai Quality Group.

"Dubai Municipality is always at the forefront of the local government departments in undertaking quality initiatives aimed at public welfare. As this conference is a major event in the region, we are extending our support to it in order to make it an effective forum for exchanging ideas that help enhance quality in all fields," she said.

The conference, which is held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Department, provides a forum where experts in the Suggestion Schemes from all over the world attend and speak. The aim of the conference is to bring the global knowledge on Suggestion Schemes and their benefits to an organization, to the middle-east, and create a platform for people in this region to share their best practices.

Bastaki said the municipality is presenting a paper on "Organisation's transformation toward Innovation" which will be delivered by Muna Obaid Al Dabbah, Head of Customer Care Section at the department.

During the first edition of the conference in 2006, the municipality had won an award for its suggestion scheme in the category of "the best suggestion in the field of environment conservation."
