National pavilions to be a major attraction at 22nd MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show

The 22nd edition of the MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show will open its doors for the region's jewellery connoisseurs at Expo Centre Sharjah on Wednesday, April 25, 2007.

Organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the World Gold Council (WGC), the exhibition will be hosting more than 350 master jewellers from Bahrain, Hong Kong - China, India, Italy, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Turkey, and the UAE.

On display will be diamonds, precious stones, loose pearls, gold and diamond jewellery, diamond and pearl sets, and watches.

Visitors to the Show will be treated to an exquisite range of both traditional and contemporary jewellery collections. The event will also witness the unveiling of some of the season's newest jewellery designs in the region.

The major attraction, however, will be the pavilions from Hong Kong - China, India, Italy, Thailand, and Singapore.

The Hong Kong pavilion under the umbrella of the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers' Association will feature over 60 jewellers. It will be Hong Kong's biggest jewellery pavilion in the region.

The pavilions from Italy, India, Thailand, and Singapore, with their own identity, distinctive designs and creations, will also be major head turners at the event.

Whereas Hong Kong is known for its affordable designer diamond jewellery, Italian jewellery is synonymous with high-end gold and diamond collections. Indian jewellery, on the other hand, is famous for its intricate designs. Thailand and Singapore are better known for precious stones and gems and medium range designer diamond jewellery respectively.

The MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show will run till April 29, 2007.
