- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, April 24 - 2007 at 11:56
- PRESS RELEASE
Gargash Enterprises, General Distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, has launched on 21st April 2007 the all-new Mercedes Benz C-Class in a record-breaking convoy for a total of 153 cars, which started at Madinat Jumeirah.
The highlight of the day was the entertainment. Enjoyable activities included performances by various talented artists and new world record attempts by the guests such as 'most apples bobbed in one minute', 'fastest time to eat Smarties with chopsticks', 'most spoons balanced on the face', and more.
All guests, young and old alike, were eager and determined to break current records, to win a range of fantastic prizes such as Virgin Atlantic airline tickets and Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa and Madinat Jumeirah dinner vouchers. Mohamed Ahmed Elkhouly broke 2 world records, bobbing 21 apples in a minute, and holding 36 pegs in his hand at one time.
Tug-of-war, bouncy castles, horse rides, game booths and an exclusive Playstation 3 zone added to the delight of all those attending. The man on top of the world was Mr. Alexander Kajo, who took home a brand new Mercedes-Benz C-Class, courtesy of Gargash Enterprises, which was the finale of the day.
A gourmet barbecue buffet was laid out for the guests to savor, and for those who wished to relax after the delicious meal, there was an Arabic sheesha lounge set up as well as soothing massages and luxurious manicures. DJ CatBoy presented the day, providing the latest updates on the convoy and the exciting event live to Dubai 92FM. Attended by over 550 multi-cultural and affluent guests, the event was certainly an exciting and unique way to celebrate the launch of the all new C-Class in the UAE.
"With the generosity of our much appreciated supporters, Gargash Enterprises' guests had a fabulous day and were well looked after. We would like to thank all of those who helped to make this special day what it was," Barber continued. The supporters included Virgin Atlantic, Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa, Seddiqi Jewellery, Coca Cola, Red Bull, Madinat Jumeirah, Shell, Soothe, Tips & Toes, and Masafi.
