This will enable customers to enjoy du's complete telecommunications experience virtually and facilitate the purchase of products and services online. The announcement was made today at MECOM Telecommunications & ICT Summit 2007, currently being held in Abu Dhabi from 22-25 April.
'du is investing its efforts and constantly looking for new ways to raise the bar in the world of communications in terms of customer comfort and innovation,' said Osman Sultan, CEO of du. 'The e-shop underscores our commitment to providing a unique and complete telecom experience and making du the one-shop answer to our customers' telecommunications needs.'
Through the e-shop, du customers will initially be able to purchase du Packages, mobile phones and accessories. Online customers will also be able to avail of exclusive offers. Delivery of all purchases will be free of charge for the customer until 31st October 2007.
The e-shop's search feature allows customers to search for products and services easily, with a filtering option to narrow a search using a number of criteria including brand, features, specification and price. Customers can also buy SIM cards and activate both monthly and Pay as You Go plans.
For the first time in the Middle East and exclusive to du, the e-shop will allow customers the opportunity to manipulate and test a virtual phone and test its features with a 360-degree view and interactive product demonstration.
'du strives to deliver a telecom experience that delights customers. All our products and services are developed with the convenience of our customers in mind, reminding them that du is always just around the corner or as close as a mouse-click away,' Sultan said.
e-shop customers will be able to pay online with their MasterCard or VISA, thanks to Network International which is part of the Emirates Bank Group.
