Harald Suchentrunk, CEO, Westfalia ME, and Michael Proffitt, CEO, DLC signed the landmark deal, which will see Westfalia Middle East become the first tenant at the DLC Office Park.
"With the opening of this local office, Westfalia ME joins the growing number of large multinational logistics companies establishing themselves in our new fully integrated, multi-modal logistics free zone,"
said Proffitt.
"There is a growing demand for warehousing facilities in the region; and as a global player in logistics technologies and solutions, Westfalia will play an important role in meeting this demand from local, national and international clientele."
Westfalia is currently responsible for more than 600 operational warehousing and automated car parking installations throughout Europe, North America and South America. The opening of Westfalia ME at DLC illustrates the company's ambitious regional expansion plans, with a focus on the automated parking solutions market.
Westfalia is the only player in the market offering the possibility of storage channels which cater to four cars per level. With less building volume and no slabs or ventilation required, Westfalia's parking solutions have proven to be extremely cost efficient. Westfalia provides reliable and proven technology, space optimisation, and an environmentally friendly solution to reduce exhaust emissions.
"Westfalia aims to provide reliable, secure and cost efficient storage areas on a large scale," said Suchentrunk. "Our DLC office will help us cater to local customers seeking professional, proven solutions from a name that is synonymous for being a market leader in the industry.
"Amongst Dubai's relentless construction boom, extensive public transportation development projects are currently underway, and such projects need proven automobile storage solutions to be wholly effective. We're extremely confident our DLC headquarters will provide us with the necessary springboard to leave our mark on the region's parking solutions map."
Westfalia Holding GmbH & Co KG, which started operations 35 years ago, is based in Germany with over 300 employees to its name, between its holding company and its various branches. Originating from a background of storage and cargo handling, Westfalia has improved basic logistics technology to supply the original concept of car parking systems. Today the company boasts the highest number of contracted parking spaces in the world.
Westfalia's DLC office will offer first class service to local customers - services to be offered include 24 hour, 7-days a week maintenance and facility support.
