Group Plus launches sports solutions company

Group Plus, one of the biggest media and advertising companies in the region has announced today the launch of Sports Plus Events, a sports advertising and event management company that aims to conceptualize, advertise, organize and execute sports concepts across the Middle East.

Headquartered in Dubai, Sports Plus Events will combine its vast knowledge of sports with events consultancy and management, offering innovative solutions to clients, the promoters of the Company told at the press conference that was held at the Movenpick Hotel.

The strategic move comes at a time when Dubai and other major cities in the region are positioning themselves as attractive venues for a wide variety of international sports and games.

Working under the Slogan "Spread Sports Virus Everywhere", the company will offer a range of services including team building, extreme sports, consultancy, networking with sports personalities, entertainment events, corporate events and integrated sponsorships, all tailored to the client's requirements.

Sports Plus events will be organizing the game between La Sagesse Lebanese Basketball team and Al Wasl, the UAE Basketball team in Al Wasl stadium on May 5. The game will feature a farewell for Khalifa Al Sheibi, former captain of the UAE National Basketball team, who has announced his retirement from the sport.

Speakers at the press conference included George Chehwane, CEO of Group Plus, sports legends Khalifa Al Sheibi and Elie Mechantaf, former Captain to La Sagesse team (Lebanon) and Abdul Rahman Al Shibani, member of Al Wasl Club Management Board.

The speakers were accompanied by Bassam Al Turk, Regional Manager of Sports Plus events and Victory Assaf, Executive Manager of Sports Plus Events in Dubai.

"With Dubai Sports City shaping up and more sports initiatives being launched all over the region, we need companies with remarkable expertise to offer innovative solutions and attract more attention to these emerging sports venues. Sports Plus Events, with its strong background, know the region very well and can come up with the right solutions," said Chehwane.

"We are quite confident that this initiative will be a huge success as our knowledge of sports and our expertise in combining sports with business can flourish and bring the desired results in a competitive economy," commented SPE team.
