India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation is in talks to acquire up to 33% of an Egyptian deepwater gas block from Royal Dutch Shell, according to Reuters. The stake, the value of which has not been released, has not been opened up for bidding and no swap arrangement between the two firms has been discussed. India's government will rule whether to let ONGC go ahead with an offer shortly.
