The Nissan Pathfinder was ahead of some strong competition this year and proved to be a leader in the mid-size SUV class.

The Automobile awards are one of the impartial awards in the region compiled through independent judging. The awards cater to many categories from 'Best Small Car' to 'Best Sports Car', with a panel of various judges consisting of Automobile's editorial team across the Middle East. The judges spent few days assessing the nominated cars before collectively deciding on the ultimate winner of the Best Family SUV, the Nissan Pathfinder.

Commenting on the recognition, Adel Faidi, Assistant Manager, Corporate Communications at Nissan Middle East, said:

"Winning this award is a sensational achievement and just reinforces the pride that everyone in Nissan feels with delivering great vehicles. Nissan is committed to bringing automotive innovation and promoting the development of the auto industry. Since its introduction the new Nissan Pathfinder has successfully set a new standard in the family SUV segment and we are strongly confident that it will further excite the market and the drivers who want to own an SUV with high value-for-money, great road presence and superior comfort."

The Nissan Pathfinder remains true to the adventure roots of the original with an all-new larger, more powerful design featuring three-row seating and improved performance driven by the use of a 4.0-liter 291HP version of the award-winning Nissan VQ-series V6 engine and a fully boxed, all-steel frame based on the full-size Armada. Today, Nissan offers the largest SUV line-up in the region encompassing the full-size Nissan Armada, Patrol, Pathfinder, X-trail and Murano.
