Al Aqili Furnishings reports AED 184 million gross revenue growth for 2006

Al Aqili Furnishings (AAF), the region's leading flooring specialist and interior solutions giant, achieved record breaking growth in 2006, smashing previous figures by reporting AED 184 million (US$ 50 million) in gross revenue, up 68 per cent on 2005.

The number of contract wins was up by an impressive 36% on 2005, with the flooring division adding a number of the UAE's most exclusive projects to its portfolio.

"The factors behind last years success come down to the shift which happened in 2005 - 2006, as it was the transition period in which the company achieved all aspects of its maxim of 'Excellence, Success and Growth' with the creation of several divisions which have moved the group from flooring specialists to a complete interior solutions provider," said Shahriar Khodjasteh, Group Marketing Director, AAF.

"The construction boom and the opening up of the freehold market in the UAE have fuelled the furnishings industry, as there is an increasing demand for quality furnishings for the various residential, hospitality and commercial projects."


AAF has grown into a multi-faceted furnishings company with the launch of several new world-class divisions and brands such as Francesco Molon - the Italian based manufacturer of exclusive neo-classical furniture; Bretz - a German company that specializes in modern yet practical interior furnishings and several l AAF created concepts including Officeland, which provides mid to high end office furnishings and Belight, offering some of the most innovative lighting solutions available in the industry.

"Our business expansion plan focuses on increasing our services, reach and products throughout the Middle East. We will be opening several new showrooms throughout the region to solidify our position as a leader in the highly competitive furnishings industry," added Mansour Khodjasteh, Group Managing Director, AAF.

AAF supplied and fitted two million square metres of flooring in 2006, up 42% on 2005, across some of the UAE's most exclusive projects, such as; the Abu Dhabi Investment Building; Al Habtoor Towers, Dubai; Rotana Hotel, Kuwait; Radisson Hotel, Jeddah; Al Qasr Hotel, Dubai; Intercontinental and Crown Plaza Hotels in the Dubai Festival City development; Radisson Hotel and Hotel Apartments, Dubai Media City; the Lake Tower Hotel and Burj Dubai Towers A and B, all of which are in the Burj Dubai Downtown district.
