The fair aims at creating awareness about employment options available to college students in the UAE.

The Diamond Sponsor of the Fair is Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and its group entities, while the Platinum Sponsor is Consolidated Contractors Company. The three Gold Sponsors are Mawaride.com, Philips and Samba Financial Group. Bayt.com is the Strategic Online Recruitment Partner for the event.

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said:

"This event will act as a channel that will help guide our students when they consider their options before choosing the right career path. We are optimistic participating companies will significantly ease this process at the Career Fair and help students fulfil their career expectations."

He said with the launch of Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) in April, a new higher education destination has been created. DIAC and DKV are currently home to more than 16 academic institutions from 10 countries, serving the need for advanced graduate and post-graduate programmes in Computing, Engineering and Technology, Business Management, Life Sciences, Fashion and Media.

Students from all UAE universities can attend the Fair that will host 27 participating companies from diverse sectors including oil and gas, advertising and PR, media, automobile, construction, finance, insurance, electronics, hospitality and retail.

Nestlé Middle East, one of the participants, is keen to meet students of 16 internationally recognised institutions under one roof at the Dubai Knowledge Village First Career Fair.

Salma Sirel, HR & Quality Manager, Philips Electronics Middle East & Africa, said: "Part of the excitement of working at Philips is our global environment. We also encourage the recruitment of new graduates to get new ideas, take on challenges, and explore opportunities for professional and personal growth. We offer the graduates an opportunity to start with a world leader in technology and innovation - and take full advantage of the range of opportunities available worldwide."

Mike Hynes, Managing Partner, Kershaw Leonard, said: "We are really looking forward to participating in the Career Fair. The job market in Dubai is highly competitive and is candidate driven. So it is gratifying to help graduates find a job. The networking amongst the exhibitors and the attendees should make this a fascinating event."

Organised by the Department of Student Services and Programmes (DSSP) at Dubai Knowledge Village, the one-day Fair will be held at Dubai Knowledge Village Block 1, Conference Centre, from 10:00 am - 07:00 pm.
