This pre-installed image on Lenovo's select models will allow users to try the software for 60 days and then converting this trial version into a full product license by simply buying the Activation key from a reseller.

"This Microsoft Office Ready Program is a simple and convenient way for users which allows them to convert the trial version of the Microsoft Office Professional 2007 into a complete license seamlessly. Lenovo once again scores a first with the announcement of this new capability for its customers in the region," said Imtiaz Ghani, managing director, Lenovo Middle East, Egypt & Pakistan.

Microsoft research has shown that some 40% of small business PCs that are sold without Microsoft Office pre-installed will have the software installed within 60 days. Additionally, Microsoft's research shows that customers who bought Microsoft Office pre-installed were more satisfied with their PC purchase decision.

"The Microsoft Office Ready Program is a very convenient and affordable means for customers to obtain Office 2007 when buying their new PCs," said Tolga Altinordu, Gulf OEM Director. "The strong partnership with our multinational partners such as Lenovo will enable more customers to benefit from the office ready program. Lenovo has been a pioneer in this market to provide their PCs pre-installed with Microsoft Office Ready image."
