The Online Boarding Pass system allows customers to print their own boarding passes in the convenience of their homes, offices or hotels before departing for the airport. Complete with a unique barcode, the facility allows customers carrying only hand baggage to bypass conventional check-in desks and go straight to the security area, simplifying the overall travel experience.

"Our customers are always at the core of our innovations and developments, and with the launch of the Online Boarding Pass across selected Middle East routes, we are making travelling from the region even easier,"

said Amanda Ball, British Airways' Service Delivery Manager, Middle East.

Customers travelling to Heathrow from Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the Omani capital Muscat and the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, will benefit from the enhanced e-services on ba.com - the one-stop travel planning tool where flyers can book and print electronic tickets, check-in and reserve seats 24 hours prior to departure, and now, print their own boarding pass before arriving at the airport.

"British Airways understands that customers want simple, easy to digest information tailored to their specific travel needs and we believe in ba.com and the 'Manage My Booking' facility. Ba.com is a market-leading product offering simple and complete itinerary management for our customers," continued Ball.

Ba.com is now the key interface between British Airways and our customers and globally approximately a quarter of all British Airways bookings are made online. The launch of Online Boarding Pass is part of the airline's drive to simplify the travel experience for customers and streamline the check-in process.

"(ba.com) is a huge driver for the airline and an important tool which enhances the way we interact with our passengers, and with the launch of Online Boarding Pass we are further channelling the simplicity of this interaction," added Ball.

British Airways operates daily services to Heathrow from Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Muscat, and Abu Dhabi, and twice daily services from Dubai.
