Avis Oman hosts annual Middle East Regional Conference

Avis Oman, the local franchisee, played host to this annual congregation of 10 general managers from across the Middle East Avis offices held to review the company's rewards and achievements in the last 12 months and determine the key initiatives for the forthcoming year.

On reasons for choosing Oman as the destination this year, Thierry Domballe, Franchisee Director - Middle East, signaled Avis Oman's growing potential and the Sultanate's recognition internationally, "Avis Oman is one of the fastest developing and growing entities in the Middle East and has immense scope of escalation and growth owing to the responsive market and extremely supportive and futuristic government."

Playing host to the conference in Oman, Gautam Broota, General Manager at Avis Oman confirms, "As a group we aim at adopting the best practices in business. In that light Avis Oman has big plans of growth and expansion by opening at new locations and undertaking new corporate initiatives. We are very excited about the new developments and plans that have been discussed during this conference".

The two-day conference assessed the performance of the various Avis profit centers of the Middle East to identify the strategies of the forthcoming year, outline the objectives and action plan based on such objectives. Domballe also confirmed that other than discussions about the key elements that contributed to the development of the Avis group, it was concluded that the growth of the organization has been higher in comparison to the forecasted growth plans, with renewed focus to maintain the momentum to achieve the long term goals.
He further added, "As one of the various initiatives taken at the conference, we are on course to having 20,000 cars on Middle East roads by 2010 and this year will see the launch of the Avis operations in the Yemen market as a result of our expansion in the regional network."

The conference was scheduled to coincide with the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai starting on 1 May for the convenience of the sales managers attending the ATM soon after. Avis will also take the opportunity of the ATM for the launch of its strategic partnership with emirates sky frequent flyer programme.
