QIB considers the establishment of a Mega Bank in Sudan

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for undertaking a study on the feasibility of establishing a Mega commercial and investment bank in Sudan, with a capital of one billion US Dollars, declared QIB CEO Mr. Salah Jaidah in a press conference.
Strategic partners from Qatar and the Gulf would participate in the proposed bank which would constitute an added value to QIB's network of banks and finance houses abroad, continued Mr. Jaidah. He emphasized that this trend comes within the bank's strategy to increase its successful investments at regional and international levels.
He said further that the bank has been encouraged by the significant changes witnessed in the Sudanese economy in general, and more precisely in its financial and banking sectors, as Sudan is now oriented towards a scalable economic opening and has attracted macro financial establishments from the Gulf and Asian countries .
Mr. Jaidah expressed his confidence that both the Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Abdullah Bin Saoud Al Thani, as well as the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan Dr. Saber Mohamed Al Hasan will endorse this project conveying his belief that it would consolidate the commercial and investment private sector's activity in Sudan. He further noted that Sudan enjoys huge resources that ensure a wide range of sizeable investment opportunities.
In conclusion, Mr. Jaidah thanked Sudan's Ambassador in Qatar H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Faqeery, and the conference organizers, while expressing his hopes that this conference would achieve its goals.
