With social responsibility central to its operations and management, ALDAR aimed the seminar at its Senior Management and Project Directors in order that the directives and learnings filter through the organisation organically.
"The 2nd Annual ALDAR Health, Safety and Environment seminar is a reiteration of our commitment to socially important issues. This is part of our continuous drive towards excellence and instilling this kind of culture needs to start at the top of the organisation. We have brought some of the best international speakers and safety experts together to share their knowledge with our senior team and we know that this can only be beneficial,"
said Mr. Abdalla Zamzam, Chief Corporate Support Officer, ALDAR.
The subjects at this year's seminar included presentations on 'Corporate Social Responsibility' by Mott McDonald and Dr. Paul Ashley, 'The Role of the Practitioner' by Professor Peter C. Barnett-Schuster and 'Health and Safety law in the UAE' by Jeremy Curran and Michael Grose.
ALDAR enlisted Abdalla Zamzam, CCSO and Ronald Barrott, CEO of ALDAR to open and close the seminar. ALDAR's CEO was equally as serious about the importance of such an initiative.
"Health, Safety and the Environment are crucial to a wider social responsibility and ALDAR wants to continue to ensure that best practice is conducted at every level of the organisation. By starting at the top, we have defined a strategy that will allow every stratum in our organisation to remain safe and responsible," said Ronald Barrott, CEO, ALDAR.
The seminar was complimented by a Free Safety Officer training session, which was held over 23rd and 24th April and highlighted the importance of roles and responsibilities in safety provision.
