The guided learning arm of the School - Manchester Business School (MBS) Worldwide - which has centres around the world, including the Middle East, will present its range of specialist and general MBA programmes, as well as the DBA - Doctorate of Business Administration.

MBS Worldwide launched its MBA programmes in the region in January 2006, which was followed by the opening of the Middle East Regional Centre in Dubai (the third international centre after Singapore and Hong Kong) later in the year. Today, MBS Worldwide supports over 150 students from around the region, including Qatar, following its blended learning programmes.

MBS Worldwide is dedicated to developing, supporting and administering independent guided learning on a global scale. For more than a decade, individuals and corporate clients in over 80 countries have benefited from the School's unique MBA programmes. Enabling access to quality management education for career-orientated professionals, regardless of location, MBS Worldwide now supports 2,500 students and has over 2,000 alumni who form part of the 5,000- strong MBS alumni network.

From the new Middle East Regional Centre, MBSW currently offers three blended learning MBA programmes - MBA for Engineering Business Managers, MBA for Financial Managers and Finance Professionals, and MBS' unique MBA for Construction Executives, as well as the Global MBA. All the programmes combine self-study with a high degree of face to face contact with MBS faculty, at workshops held in Dubai or one of the other centres, or even in Manchester.

Randa Bessiso, Director Middle East, MBS Worldwide, explains the School's interest in Qatar: "We are delighted to be participating at Ta'leem for the first time and bringing the Manchester MBA to Qatar. We already have several senior managers from a range of sectors in Qatar studying with us, and they have been very encouraging and supportive of us coming to the Doha exhibition.

"Our MBA programmes are post-experience courses, which means that students should have several years' work experience, including managerial level. The average age of our students is mid-thirties and we have senior executives right up to board level in our current cohort of students. With the dynamic economic expansion taking place in Qatar, which is developing local talent and attracting professionals from around the world, we are hoping to meet strong student candidates, as well as employers, during Ta'aleem 2007."

MBS is one of only a small number of business schools worldwide to be accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), AACSB International and EQUIS. The 'Manchester MBA' degree is awarded by The University of Manchester and the certificate awarded to students in the Middle East is exactly the same as that awarded to full-time campus-based students. Most importantly, employers all over the world recognise its value; a hallmark qualification with international recognition.
