LG's latest range recognises the fact that consumers are spending more time with their computer monitors than ever before, sometimes even upwards of ten hours a day. However, due to limited options, users weren't able to find monitors tailored to their particular needs.

To counter this, LG's attractive monitor range offers design and technological sophistication that have been the hallmark of the digital leader.

"Endless lines of matte grey or black frames and basic functions have historically dominated the marketplace. Gamers, techies and the design-savvy were hard-pressed to find monitors that truly served their needs," explained Mr. K. W, Kim, President of LG Electronics - Middle East and Africa operations.

LG is one of the world's top three monitor brands by market share, according to data collected by market research company DisplaySearch, for the fourth quarter of 2006. The digital leader plans to introduce more than 20 models this year, with particular focus on wide screen monitors.

"A computer monitor can be so much more than a functional device - it can provide a unique flair for home or office, or even seem like a work of art," he added. "LG has designed a comprehensive package of different monitors can satisfy the needs of almost any consumer."

For design-conscious users, LG's recently introduced Fantasy Wide (L200WJ) is the perfect option. Fantasy Wide is the most recent model of LG's award-winning design-oriented Fantasy series, first introduced in 2006. Its 20-inch screen and jar-shaped stand with red LED light creates a modern environment.

Not only does the Fantasy Wide look good from the front, but it has a sleek profile from behind as well, perfect for a company reception are or other high visibility areas. The Fantasy Wide's 3000:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response time are the best in the industry, making Fantasy, accordingly, perfect for movie lovers and serious gamers.

The design concept for Fantasy Wide was to create a sense of romantic movements, especially with the monitor's unique stand, soft curves and red LED light. The monitor's 20-inch screen is an advantage for users as well. This wide screen gives users more display area for internet surfing, graphics, gaming, photos and more.

The consumer trend toward bigger computer monitors is likely to continue with the recent introduction of Microsoft's Windows Vista, which is optimised for 22-inch screens. To address this consumer need, this March, LG is introducing its L6W series - the L196WTQ, L206WTQ, and L226WTQ in 19-inch, 20-inch, and 22-inch sizes, respectively.

The luxurious black glossy L6W series monitors are Windows Vista Premium certified and are perfect for the Windows Vista user interface. LG's L6W series can also be the ultimate choice for heavy multimedia users as it provides superior quality images through its DVI connector and HDCP compliance.

This monitor also features a 3000:1 contrast ratio with 2ms response time, allowing for even the most graphic intensive content to stay crisp and clear with minimal to no ghosting effect.

Another function LG has proudly included is its 'ez-Zooming' function that changes the resolution of the monitor with just one click. This function allows consumers unfamiliar to PC functions view the contents in convenient sizes with just one click.

For gamers who seek vivid and lively images from their monitors, LG recently introduced its L245WP, a Full HD monitor with 1920 x 1200 resolution and HDMI. Users can easily connect their PS3s or XBox 360s and enjoy Full HD content.

Another monitor LG recently introduced is not only perfect for gamers but also for general entertainment enthusiasts who want their monitor to do it all. LG's M8W series - the M198WA, (19-inch), M208WA (20-inch) and M228WA (22-inch) are wide monitor TVs that are optimised for HD content.

These monitors also provide digital A/V connections for TVs, camcorders, DVD players, game consoles and more. DVI input, TV tuner, built in speaker (3W x 2), and LG's famous f-Engine make the HD-ready M8W series a must-have for users who want a versatile yet highly functional monitor.

With 1440 x 900 resolution for the 19-inch model and 1680 x 1050 resolution for the 20- and 22-inch editions, LG's M8W series also offers 3000:1 contrast ratio and 5ms response time while providing a 170/170 viewing angle.

For people who aren't satisfied with just one monitor, LG has recently introduced its L206WU, optimised for use as a second monitor. Multi-taskers seeking even more screen space can now easily add a second monitor over a USB connection without having to open the display setting in their PCs, thanks to LG's auto switching function. No graphic card is necessary, and users can add up to six monitors at once.
