Running from the first of May through June and stopping in nine key cities (Manama, Cairo, Casablanca, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, Lagos, Nairobi, and Riyadh), the Roadshow features keynote addresses from IDC analysts and presentations from its partners Microsoft, ITS2, Websense, Secure Computing, Oracle, Secude Middle East, Kaspersky Labs, Gemalto, Symantec, MSI, and TDI & COMSEC. In Four cities (Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, and Manama), it also includes an after-lunch workshop, featuring Microsoft's System Center, a family of IT management solutions and Microsoft's Forefront, a comprehensive line of business security solutions.

IT Security is no longer a set of problems with clear solutions. In the past couple of years, it has become to be recognized as an ongoing process of vigilance covering all aspects of IT: from hardware and system design to software implementation and network use. While system administrators are generally aware of this in principle, few have put it into practice, and too much time is spent treating symptoms rather than addressing causes.

" This stems from the fact that IT markets are developing rapidly in the Middle East and many businesses acquire complex IT systems all at once," says Jyoti Lalchandani, IDC MEA VP & Regional Managing Director. Unfortunately, security is often not installed at the same rate as systems, largely finding the right providers has also become difficult; access to information isn't all that helpful when there is too much of it, as there is on the Internet. Our events introduce users directly to those capable of helping them secure their business.

Our fifth annual IT security roadshow understands the new approach to security. The events treat it as a process that includes proactive attention to detail and the human factor in policy implementation. It also features IT Security gurus that focus on prevention, helping you identify and handle threats before they shut down your operations.
IDC sets the stage at each event. Our analysts provide guidance on understanding security as a process and on remembering that the primary aim of any organization is providing a safe framework for business operations and access to key systems. Industry experts then deliver information essential to sound IT security solutions, tackling topics such as:

Securing Workstations, Offices, and Buildings
Protecting Networks from Internal and External Threats
Embracing Data and Network Protection Regulations
Preventative Security and Intrusion Detection
Hackers Techniques and How to Spot Them
Application and Web Application Security
Mobility and Wireless Network Security
Encryption Tools and Challenges
Identity Theft and Management

As such, IDC's IT Security Roadshow is best suited for:

• Chief Security Officers, Directors of Enterprise Security, CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs
• Privacy Officers, Network Security Managers, Server Application Managers
• Antivirus, Email Monitoring, VPN, and 3A Managers
