- PRESS RELEASE
HP Middle East today announced its sponsorship for Dubai International Academy (DIA) IT Fair DI@TECH to encourage students to learn hands-on about the benefits and capabilities of using technology.
HP currently provides DIA with Desktop and notebook PCs, All-In-One printers, Proliant servers and ProCurve networking. From the beginning, DIA wanted a strong personal computing infrastructure and to achieve this, it has since installed 180 reliable HP desktop computers which are housed in two main computer labs and also in some 'mini labs' for younger children. Others are used by teachers and administrators. DIA started with five HP notebook computers but sees this as an evolutionary process, now DIA uses portable laptop trolleys that move around the classrooms and provide every student with a personal HP laptop.
"From the beginning, we realised that technology would be at the core of us being able to deliver our mission which is 'Excellence in Education', " said DIA's Executive Director, Poonam Bhojani. "The International Baccalaureate is a research oriented curriculum and therefore IT is a vital cornerstone. Also, to compete in today's context you need to have efficient administrative systems so we wanted the administrative activities of the school to be highly automated right from the start.
"HP is delighted to be a part of such an important and educational Fair, and through providing a hands on experience, we hope to encourage student learning in an enjoyable and interactive way," said Vishnu Taimni, Business Development Manager, PSG, HP Middle East.
"We have several differentiators that make our school stand out from the rest in Dubai. Firstly the education, secondly the international element and equally important, our HP technology," added Bhojani.
