Bob Farrow, General Manager of Hertz UAE, said today that business travellers are becoming increasingly demanding and car rental companies must meet their expectations on service and value for money.

"In some areas of the regional travel industry where demand currently exceeds supply, service standards are simply not what they should be," said Farrow.

"But it's when business is good, when customers are pouring in, and the awards are being handed out, that complacency can creep in. Rather than let that happen, we should work harder to keep our customers satisfied."

Farrow collected the Best car rental company in the Middle East trophy at this week's prestigious Business Traveller Middle East Awards in Dubai on behalf of all 11 Hertz franchisees in the region.

"We're delighted to receive this prestigious award, particularly as Business Traveller Middle East influences many of our customers," said Farrow. "The award recognises all the hard work put in by the Hertz operations across the region to deliver the best car rental and leasing service in the market.

"Everyone in the Hertz team deserves a pat on the back. At the same time, we'll be holding review meetings with staff in all departments to look at what ways of improving every aspect of our car rental and leasing service."

Similar action will be taken by the other Hertz Middle East franchisees in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Yemen.
