The unveiling occurred during the Gulf Air Bahrain International Motorshow on May 1st, 2007, at the Motor City display area in the Bahrain International Circuit.
Senior MotorCity management and Isuzu Officials were present at the launch. The Isuzu D-Max remains on display for the duration of the Motorshow which ends on May 3rd 2007.
The all-new D-MAX has been developed to deliver class leading levels of engine performance, fuel efficiency and safety in a stylish package which sets new benchmarks in the class.
Following the launch officials, guests, and the media took a guided tour of the motorshow and the Motor City exhibit areas. Upon unveiling the Isuzu D-Max pickup, Toru Kishimoto, General Manager, Middle East Section, Isuzu Operations Co., Ltd said, 'We are proud to share the value of commitment to excellence with our partners, MotorCity, here in Bahrain. In the D-Max, Isuzu has combined its leading technologies in diesel engine manufacturing with a stylish and strong body. We are confident that the Isuzu D-Max will continue the success story that the outgoing model started'.
A reception followed, at which time Tamotsu Tomiyama, General Manager, Middle East Isuzu Business Operation, presented an achievement award to Mr Ebrahim Kanoo, General Manager, Operations. Mr Ebrahim Kanoo accepted the award and said, 'We are proud to be the partners for Isuzu in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and we have always maintained that Isuzu upholds the highest of standards in technology and innovation. The D-Max proves this, as it meets all expectations in terms of utility, durability and performance.'
The new Isuzu D-Max comes in 2 body types, regular cab or crew cab, both of which combine a sporty look with class leading safety and durability. Two engine possibilities: the 3.0 litre common-rail inter-cooled turbo charged diesel engine for reliability in the widest range of driving conditions, and the 2.5 litre with direct-injection technology to enhance fuel economy and reduce exhaust emissions without compromising on power.
