Diabetes 2007 Family Forum kicks off to a good start

Diabetes 2007, the one-day specialist conference held in Abu Dhabi yesterday kicked off to a good start with families and health professionals coming together with an aim to share and learn more on how to manage and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Diabetes 2007 is organised by Tadreeb in association with Health Authority Abu Dhabi, Cleaveland Clinic, Emirates Foundation and Imperial College London Diabetes Centre whose participation is part of the recently launched public health awareness campaign, 'DIABETES. KNOWLEDGE. ACTION.'

The 'Friday Family Forum' (May 4, 6pm-8pm) in advance of the one day health professionals conference saw a lot of families visit with an eagerness to know how to manage and maintain a healthy lifestyle and live with diabetes if already diagnosed with it.

The forum was kicked off by some of the children present and enthusiastic to "kick for diabetes". The forum later felicitated and showcased winning posters and essays by students from local schools. The poster and essay competition was ordanised as part of a community diabetes awareness programme.
