DM to teach first-aid skills to staff

Dubai Municipality has organized a special training course on first-aid for its employees who are involved in technical jobs.

The course, to be held on 9th and 10th May, is being conducted as part of the ongoing internal training programme of the civic body for the year 2007.

Ahmed Ibrahim Al Zarouni, Head of Human Resources Development Section in the Personnel Department said the course will provide the participants with first-aid skills, basic first-aid knowledge to be applied in different situations and conditions in order to enable them to respond to emergency calls and situations on site.

He said the second training course of the week called, "Excellence in customer service in public sector" would be organized on 6th May and would be attended by a group of administrative officers and fresh graduates in the municipality.

Al Zarouni said the course is aimed at enhancing the behavioural skills essential for the employees to deal with the customers in a more effective way and also to offer excellent services to them. It will enable them to undertake the transactions, especially regarding complaints and problems, more fluently.
He said the training course would provide the participants with an idea on the requirements for an excellent customer service and the challenges faced in this area: human, individual, organizational, and system. It will also brief the participants on the effective methods of dealing with the complaints and problems of the customers.

Al Zarouni said the third training course of the week called, "Strategic Planning" would be organized on 8th May and would be attended by a group of employees in the Contracts and Purchasing Department in the municipality.
He said the course is aimed at providing the participants with a fair knowledge and the basic elements of strategic management and strategic planning, enhancing the skills of the participants and their capabilities on vision, analysis of the indexes of internal and external environment and also develop the capabilities of the participants in formulating strategic plans in their organizational units.
