Mr. Nimr Yasin from the Arab Bank recently completed his requirements. Upon his graduation, he received a congratulatory letter from Mr. Harin Dias, Vice President of Visa Europe, and was also recognised as one of the 46 candidates in the world to hold this highly acclaimed academic distinction for the year 2006.

The CiBCM certificate is granted to candidates upon their successful completion of a 15-month study programme. The programme combines the disciplines of self-study, research, and analysis, and is the card industry's only global professional qualification.

This certificate grants its holder the benefit of understanding all the intricate ins and outs of card management principles and covers fundamental areas of strategic planning including marketing, risk management, operations and business performance.

Stemming from its mission to eradicate card illiteracy around the world, Visa International established its Visa Business School to be the first and only faculty dedicated to fast-tracking card management skills.

The CiBCM program is one of the many programs run by the Visa Business School, as it regularly holds conferences and workshops that revolve around issues pertaining to payment products, fraud management, the fundamentals of card business, risk management, and other relevant disciplines. These courses are delivered by a faculty of experienced banking specialists, and professionals working at Visa International.

Commenting on Mr. Yasin's achievement, Mr. Naser Abu Ghazaleh, Visa International Regional Manager for the Levant, said,

"We at Visa International congratulate Mr. Yasin on his achievement, for we are fully aware that this programme is a challenging one. We feel that the holders of this certification are the pioneers and enthusiasts who will relay their expertise to shape the future of the banking field in the region. We congratulate the Arab Bank on their team member's achievements, and on this occasion we thank our member banks for encouraging the advancement of education pertaining to the electronic payment industry. . Through the Visa Business School we hope to continue to advocate initiatives that introduce bankers, financial analysts and the general public to the latest methodologies adopted in the card industry. It is with increased knowledge and practice that we at Visa International are able to stand out as the providers of practical, cost effective, and widely accepted alternatives to cash."

It is important to note that the CiBCM programme is accredited by the Institute of Financial Services, and to this end it is constantly updated and revised so that it fits the demands of the market.
