Dubai Municipality Training Centre recently invited world famous negotiator John G. Shulman to speak on leadership.
Shulman is the President and CEO of Alignor, the world leader in performance improvement solutions utilizing the interest-based approach to negotiation and leadership development.
Shulman conducted the Alignor Talent Management course using real-life case studies, interactive exercises and presentations. The course offers proven strategies for business leaders and executives to drive the creation of value in their organizations.
The case studies and exercises were tailored to address the current needs of the participants and the business objectives of the organization, and included topics arising from ongoing challenges or business problems that the participants and organization currently face.
Shulman underlined the need to understand the core foundation of effective leadership and talent management. He also called for developing strategies for leading change in the organization and strengthening individual and team decision-making.
Shulman also stressed the importance of applying a strategic, proven approach to negotiation and persuasion and asked the participants to learn best practices for communicating and persuasion, in addition to strengthening and maintaining key relationships that create sustainable value.
He also told the course participants to gain cross-functional and organizational alignment on key decisions, create effective performance measures and ensure accountability throughout the team, in addition to resolving conflict effectively with others and within the organization, identifying and developing talent in other team members, leveraging a deep understanding of other stakeholders' needs and perceptions and handling crises and a variety complex and difficult situations.
