UAE insurance to cost $1.1bn

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, May 07 - 2007 at 07:36

Clyde and Company, an international law firm, has estimated the new compulsory health insurance schemes for expatriates and their dependents could cost employers up to $1.1bn across the UAE, and around $408m in Dubai alone, assuming a similar compulsory health insurance scheme to that in Abu Dhabi is introduced in the city. The firm also stressed it was vital a uniform scheme was introduced country-wide to avoid needless confusion.
