  • PRESS RELEASE

GHESA Fountains, a specialist turnkey organisation in the design, project and installation of ornamental and cybernetic musical fountains and multimedia shows launched its range of 'Magic' fountains or graphical waterfalls at Cityscape Abu Dhabi Tuesday 8 May.

This is the first time these computer generated water displays are seen live in the Middle East.

Responsible for the launch of GHESA in the Middle East, CEO, Carlos Pissarra, commented, "Lots of people ask if it is a video projection...but it is not, nor is it lighting effect, it is simply the most advanced water technology available. The 'Magic' waterfall can write phrases in any language, draw any type of logo and make mesmerising water effects."

The 'Magic' waterfalls or fountains were invented by Steven Pevnick of Pevnick Design, GHESA's partner for this product and make amazing kinetic graphics such as lines, shapes and multiple dancing ribbons. When the functioning programme is designed it is always combined with kinetic graphics with the words and logos to create astonishing elements of surprise, which keeps viewers transfixed in anticipation of the next image.

There are many options and systems available according to the place where the waterfall is going to be located. It can be used indoor or outdoor, as a permanent installation or on a rental basis for events like exhibitions. Many shapes are also possible from linear to curved ones.

The computer generated images that emanate from the top of the waterfall are created entirely of individual water droplets. The image is defined by alternating the water supply, 'on and off' at split second intervals. Controlled by customised computer software each droplet falls so precisely that they create vivid graphic images and words. In free fall these water droplets can define any words in a variety of languages, English, French German, Spanish, even Japanese and Arabic.

Kinetic graphic images developed to specific personal designs can also be created and programmed into the waterfall. There are a myriad of 'rainfall' patterns to choose from including multiple dancing ribbons, flipping squares, falling chevrons, pyramids, musical notes, the list is almost endless and only confined by the imagination. Images are pre-programmed and dispatched to the site, whether temporary or permanent. Maintenance is minimal, but onsite support is available.

"Our objective is to bring to the Middle East, fountains with innovative technology and original designs to produce amazing water effects. This together with our team of experienced professionals affords GHESA a competitive edge, throughout the region and internationally. We offer a turnkey operation, minimising risk to owners and or operators alike," concluded Pissarra.
