- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, November 17 - 2002 at 15:07
- PRESS RELEASE
General manager of the Abu Dhabi Grand, Francesco Borrello, achieved a finals placing in the Hermes Award ceremony held in Paris last week - winning one of the top five nominations as Best Hotel Manager in Midscale and Upscale Hotels award.
Said Borrello: "To be recognised by my peers as one of the top five hoteliers worldwide in this sector is a great honour - but I must relay my appreciation to all the staff at Le Royal Meridien Bahrain who helped me achieve this nomination during my tenure at that hotel earlier this year.
"With a similar commitment from the team at the Abu Dhabi Grand - which is being upgraded, extended and rebranded as Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi next year - I am sure we can aim for such global recognition here."
Le Meridien also achieved success in the World Travel Awards 2002 last week, as well as winning the TTG Reader's Choice for Best Business Hotel Chain, presented in London earlier this month.
